Goodbye :(

So, here it is; Kevin and I are moving to Utah. He got a job at Fidelity and started last week. I flew up this weekend and we were able to find a house and put an offer on it. They accepted our offer and hopefully we can close first part of January. It will be nice to have a place of our own again but I'm very sad to be leaving my family and home. We have all gotten very close over the last few years and I would never take those years back. So everyone in Sacramento we will miss you, and those in Utah we hope to have many great times.

So Sad

Let it snow

Yup, this is as good as it's going to get. I'm lucky she was on his lap long enough to get this shot. I think June was thinking the same thing.
Man, whose nose is that? It's huge!
First time in the snow. She went nuts. This is another Christmas story moment. She was pretty stuck.

Jordyn's First Birthday

This is Jordyn's first birthday party. Her and Kelly share a birthday so we were in a hurry to get out the door to go to dinner for Kelly's party. So the night kind of went in fast forward mode. Open presents, happy birthday song, eat cake, in bed. All over in about 30 min.

Her first bite of cake. She say's "I can't believe what I have missed!"

Dovewood Court

We all went and saw the lights at Dovewood Court. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a great time. You can see Brent is especially excited.

Our Christmas Tree Adventure

Dad and I decided we would go up to Little Bear this year and cut down a tree for ourselves. It's tradition of course! Little did we know that we would hike the whole mountain before finding anything you could call a decent tree. Ok, so everyone else was right, Apple Hill makes much more since; but we sure had a lot of fun on the tractor ride. We even got to ride up and hike with our two doggy friends. One of them had a rat tail and was the sickest excuse for a dog I've ever seen. We also had the whole mountain to ourselves. We were the only ones there! It was very peacefull and quiet.

We finally gave up and said just cut one down. It took a long time to find. On the way home we stopped for lunch and I said that maybe the tree would get stolen and we'd have an excuse to go buy a good one:) It's really not that bad, just not great.

All that matters is that Jordyn had fun; and what's more fun for a baby than finding stuff to eat off the ground.

Thanksgiving Trip

Thanksgiving day at Kevin's parents house. Jordyn loved all the food. She even got pie. The food was great and the boys were loud as usual. It was a pretty good Thanksgiving and fun to see everyone again.
Jordyn and her cousins, Kyle and June. She loved the crayons, but only to chew on.

We spent a day at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake, Utah. It was freezing but Jordyn seemed to really enjoy it. The giraffe came right up to her. It was pretty funny.

We went and saw the lights at Temple Square. They were good to see but I felt like we were cattle being herded around. Opening weekend is not the best time to go. Below is Randy, Shandra, Madolyn, and Tanner. It was freezing. We went from 70's in CA to 30's in Utah.

Does this remind you of anything? "I can't move my arms!" (Ralphy in the Christmas Story) The coat was a little big and I was a little over protective.

Melanie had a dinner for us in Ogden and invited the cousins. It was a lot of fun and the food was great!

Laundry Day

Kevin couldn't figure out how to get the laundry and Jordyn upstairs at the same time so he improvised!

Baby's First Halloween

Here's Jordyn the bat at our ward Trunk-or-Treat. It felt like a lot of kids showed up, probably because they all made their way around 5-6 times. Jordyn only made it to a few cars until I felt really stupid when the people would ask me what kind of candy I actually wanted.

This is Jordyns first Trick-or-Treating; a very eventful moment. It doesn't look at all staged.

Jordyn got a glow stick at the Trunk-or-Treat. At least I didn't feel dumb at that trunk!

Here's the fam on Halloween night. We had a family party with scones and chilli. The Kroesi and Williams came over. Dad did his fun bags for everyone that were not at all extreme:)

We decided to take Jordyn trick-or-treating to a few houses around the neighborhood with Brent. This was actually our fourth time trick-or-treating after the trunk-or-treat, State Farm business area and Almond Orchard. She was a pro at the end.

I carved the pumpkin on the right. Can you tell who he is? Kevin did the wierd one on the left. The middle is Jordyn's pumpkin. You can get a small glimpse of dads pumpkin struggling in the background. Whenever we clap Jordyn will drop what she's doing and clap herself. She can stand until she gets nervous and then goes down.

Oh, an opening, I should stick my hand in there. Not to worry that there is a candle burning inches from my hand. Don't worry daddy, stand there and take the picture while I cry because I can't get my hand out.

A Day at the Zoo

Jordyn's trip to the Folsom Zoo. You can see the tiger right behind her. It may be a small zoo but all of the animals are out and pretty close to you.

Jordyn and her couisin Andrew. It took about 20 pictures to get one with them both looking at us, so there was no way to get them smiling. I promise they did have fun though.

Here is a video of Jordyn on the swings at the Zoo. It's one of her favorite things to do now.

Pumpkin Patch

It's Jordyn's first trip to the pumpkin patch. Isn't this a picture perfect moment?

Unfortunatly the tractor shut down earlier. But Jordyn still managed to get her first pumpkin. That didn't stop Kevin from having a good time with her. Luckily I was there to supervise. That still didn't stop him from getting Brent thrown off from 10 feet up.

Dad found a pumpkin that looked the way he feels. It now has a spot on our porch.

The first year is over

This is the family at the cemetary on what would have been my mom's 62nd birthday. We had a really great weekend when Jason and Jamie came to visit and we were able to celebrate my mom's memory. Or maybe just laugh at it!

Here is Jordyn enjoying anything she can get her hands on. I know she would have loved her grandma and I'm anxious for her to learn all about her.

Here we are enjoying apple hill and every possible item of food we could get our hands on. As Jason and I were singing, "apple donuts, apple shakes, and apple fritters, apple pies...." We were trying to be like Johnny Apple Seed.
