Herriman Pumpkin Festival

We had our first Halloween party of the year. Lots of games and prizes and cookies. The kiddies really seemed to enjoy it.

Cow Train
Oh, the costume contest. So stupid. They had 3 men judging it and the costumes they picked were hideous. I'm not saying this as a bitter mother that lost (ok, maybe just a little) but I think everyone was like what they ****. The winner in Sophia's category was a kid with a ghetto store bought angry birds sheet over his head. It was pretty lame. Oh well, they had a great night and didn't care about this. They had no idea what was going on anyways. I felt like I was a beauty pageant mom and pissed off for them. Scary:(

Sophia's Costume

This little thing gets to be Foofa from her favorite show Yo Gabba Gabba. This was my attempt to make a costume. Let's just say it didn't turn out as a hoped but oh well. She get's two options since she hates wearing the hat. Also Kevin thinks she looks like the elfs from the Christmas story that push Ralphy down the slide so the headband might be a better option.

Jordyn's Costume

Jordyn is a peacock this year. The actuall costume and tights are gymboree but I made the feathers and headband. Not too shabby.

Pumpkin Patch

We got a million pumpkins from Kevin's parents patch this year but us girls still wanted to go to the pumpkin patch. Anything Halloween I'm up for it.

We started off with looking at goats and taking a hay ride. I swear the girls were happy this day but for some reason I don't have one picture with them smiling.
Next we went for the corn maze.
We picked out crazy looking pumpkins and gourds since we already had the normal kind.

They had a craft corner and for a buck they got a hot dog, 2 crafts, and a bunch of prizes in the hay prize game.

Random Fall stuff

I just thought this picture was funny
It's been craft central at our house with all the Halloween crafts. Crystal and dad got Jordyn this sweet house to decorate.
We went with Kelly to Gardner Village to find all the witches. They do a scavenger hunt and in the end get to take their papers in for a cookie.

Freezing our butts off day 1

We planned a Yellowstone trip with Kevin's parents and sisters for last weekend. The weekend before was 90 degrees and the day we left this is what met us in Idaho. It was snowing pretty hard. That didn't stop us though.
This is what it looked like when we got there and it was still coming down strong. I was getting the Christmas spirit which was crazy since it's not even Halloween. The house was really nice. It held 15 people and had a huge upstairs loft with tons of toys and kids movies. We had so much fun when we were in the house. We played lots of cards and games after the kids got to bed.

Soph licking the brownie bowl.
These are actually from the day we left. The house had this really cool playground area for the kids to play on.

Day 2 of freezing our butts off

This is our first day in the park. A high of 33 degrees this day. We went down to Old Faithful and did the loop all the way around. It was pretty cold but not unbearable. We just did lots of bundling.
There was a lot of driving this day. We took Angela's daughter Ashlyn with us and that helped keep the kids entertained. That and lots of movies.
This is one of the basins by Old Faithful. Soph and I stayed in the car because for some reason is was extra windy and frigid. This was the only stop we couldn't do. Plus all the steam got them a little damp.
Walking on the snowy paths. I got a video of Jordyn stepping right into a huge pile of buffalo poop.
Bundling the babe
This is Artist Point. Its so amazing with the falls in the back.
Every stop consisted of snow ball fights and usually someone crying in the end. They just can't resist the first snowfall of the season.

Freezing our butts off Day 3

Day 3 started off with us seeing this bull elk right at the West Entrance.
We stopped at Norris on our way up to Mammoth.

The girls running at Norris. They were pretty anxious to get out of the car.
Lots of really neat areas to see there.
We stopped on our way over to Lamar Valley to let the girls get a break from the car. Jordyn was feeling car sick as usual. We hiked down a little ways to this little pond. I love this picture of Soph.
Our first Grizzly spotting. The girls had fun climbing around Glen and Donna's truck.
On our way home we decided to stop at Mammoth again and do some of the hikes. Soph was screaming and needing a little break again. Yellowstone is a lot of driving. It was a two hour drive from the Grizzly area and we didn't get home until 9. They were troopers though.

Big Springs and freezing our butts off day 4

Before we left for home from Yellowstone we stopped by Big Springs. The water is super clear and the girls had a lot of fun feeding the fish and ducks.

4 moose wandered into the spring. It was amazing seeing that many together.
